Gifted Occupation Development Society

Started in 1894, The GODS Academy caters for boys gifted in Music, Dance and Drama, The Sciences and Logical Design. We accept girls gifted in these subjects in our mixed Sixth Form.

Situated in the sleepy Cotswolds, The Academy takes boys from the age of eleven and nurtures them to the age of eighteen. We take children from overseas, providing they speak English.

We believe that every child can reach their full potential with the right care. We take in students that have been billed "troublesome" by other schools, regardless of their backgrounds. We integrate our pupils into modern society in the villages close by.

Every student gets an allowance of £10 a week (around $20) to spend in the local town. Obviously, relationships with villagers are permitted, but it is strictly against the rules to engage in sexual activity, if under 16 at all, if over in the school grounds. Students found breaking this rule will be suspended.

Our current headteacher, Ms Hayley Williams BA, MA, NPQH, has held her position for three years. She is popular with students and staff alike, but rules the school firmly, helping it acquire an outstanding Ofsted report in her first year. Our staff body is qualified and capable.
